PRACTICAL INFO FAQ’S

I have bought my ticket to Tenerife already. How will I get to Gran Canaria?
For the people who had bought  the plane tickets before we finalized the program, we will arrange the boat trip between Tenerife and Gran Canaria. That’s why we need the ID/NIE of these persons as well as the date and hour of their arrival to manage the tickets, which will cost 5€ per person. Otherwise the normal cost will be 20€ per person, so we highly recommend to fill the form before April 2nd. All the people who filled the form after this date will have to manage their trip between islands themselves.

Where will we stay? Do we need any extra materials like sleeping bags etc for the accomodation?
From 3rd of April to 12th we will stay in Asociación Atlas in Gran Canaria.  (Calle Anzofé 35 Las Palmas de Gran Canaria). Atlas  is located in La Isleta neighborhood and is 5 minutes walk from Las Canteras beach! We will have rooms for 2 and 4 people with en-suite bathrooms and common spaces to generate different activities as kitchen, common room, coworking space and an amazing rooftop.

On 12th of April we will go all together to Tenerife and stay at  La Terrera Hostel till 15th of April. (Calle Juan de Vera, 41, 38201 San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Santa Cruz de Tenerife). La Terrera is located in La Laguna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  We will be staying in rooms for 4 or 6 people with shared bathrooms.

The cost of the accommodation will be 8€ per night and the total amount will be paid upon arrival.

We will be provided everything necessary for our stay except towels; so bring yours!

IMPORTANT! We are overbooked in Tenerife so anyone registering after April 2nd needs to manage their accommodation there on their own.

How will we go from Gran Canaria to Tenerife during the Glocal Camp?
On 12th of April we will take the ship that our sponsor Naviera Armas has provided us and will go to Tenerife all together. It takes around three hours. We will get on board at 4:30pm in Gran Canaria and arrive to Santa Cruz de Tenerife at 7:20pm. The ticket will cost 5€ per person. Otherwise the normal cost will be 20€ per person, so we highly recommend to fill the form before April 2nd. All the people who filled the form after this date will have to manage their trip between islands themselves.

What about the food? How will we manage lunches and dinners?
In Gran Canaria, Atlas will provide us a volunteer cook, from 6th of April we’ll have the opportunity to have a vegetarian and vegan meal (lunch or dinner) for 5€ per meal per person. So it will be practical to mention the number of meals you would like to have during check-in at Atlas. We can manage the breakfast by generating a common budget where everyone contributes with 5€ for breakfast in Gran Canaria. In Tenerife, the breakfast is included in the La Terrera Hostel. So we’ll be having good and healthy food for 10-15€  per day per person.
